Knitting

Abby taught me how to knit last summer, but I didn't get started on a project until January. I wanted to show you one of the projects I have going on right now. This is an afghan for our family room. I am using Vanna's Choice yarn by Lion Brand. The colors are linen, honey, pea green, taupe & dusty blue. 

The inspiration for the color choices are from the fabric on a new club chair we bought this past fall. All part of a family room update. I will have to show some before and after pics later.

I am using a pattern from this book. The pattern is simply called "knit RIPPLE afghan".

You may not know that Vanna White is a long time knitter, she does a lot of charity knitting and this book is a collection of some of the items she has knitted for cancer patients. I am in the beginnings of some charity knitting myself. I have been approached by a friend to do some knitting for a local crisis pregnancy center. I will be knitting baby booties.
