Good News from the Doctor

We had good news yesterday from our sports medicine doctor...Dr. Tracy Ray w/ The Andrews Center. A little background first...after Johns started warming up at his meet on Tuesday @ Mtn. Brook...he came to me and said, "my knee is stiff, I can't stretch this one the same as the other one." John was not in pain so I told him to ask the coach what to do. Coach let him run the 1600...he ran a 5:41 just 5 seconds off his best time, but there was some swelling and John was a little frustrated because he couldn't run at maximum speed. Still no pain...so he ran the 800 (time 2:37, again just 5 seconds off his PR). Coach decided John would not run the 4x400 relay and ask that I get John's knee checked. So, that is what we did, and were so relieved that Dr. Ray did not see any damage to John's knee. Due to Spring Break (woo hoo!) we have 2 weeks until the next meet so that give us time to rest the knee. We are so thankful that the swelling was not an indication of an injury.
